Over the last few months there have been talks, about Dame Dash considering selling his share in Roc-A-Fella Records. It seems that the co founder is indeed exploring this possibility and has mentioned who he wants to sell it to.

Today (June 6) Dame Dash reached out to Kendrick Lamar via Instagram “@kendricklamar my 3rd is for sale if you want to buy it. Any serious offers DM.”

A screenshot of a tweet from K. Dot dated June 5 2010 was included with the post. In the tweet the rapper compared JAY Z’s project to Nas’s work favoring the former as his top choice. Then Kendrick wrote, “I’m sorry, Reasonable doubt is better than illmatic… #youcanunfollowmenow,” Kendrick wrote at the time.

Although the separation between Jay Z Dame Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke at Roc-A-Fella is well known they officially remained connected for a few years. In February 2024 Roc-A-Fella Inc. Had to settle an $823K debt with movie producer Josh Webber and Muddy Waters Films. Consequently a New York judge ruled for Roc-A-Fella Inc. To transfer Dash’s ownership share, in the company to the US Marshals.

Ever since he parted ways, with his business associates, Dame Dash has encountered a string of money issues. As reported by Rolling Stone back in 2019 he got into trouble for failing to pay than $400,000 in child support to his spouse, Rachel Roy. In an interview on The CEO Show, with Dr. Taje Moreno November he openly admitted to being a ‘proud broke,’ and shared that he couldn’t meet the yearly child support obligations ranging from $300,000 to $400,000 owed to Roy.
