Megan Thee Stallion Returns With New Single and Video “BOA”

The Houston-based rapper released a new song featuring a snake theme in preparation for her upcoming "Hot Girl Summer Tour."

Megan Thee Stallion kicked off the weekend with a new music drop.

Following her tracks “Cobra” and “Hiss,” the Houston rapper recently released a song titled “BOA” centered around a snake theme. This track was produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, known for collaborating with Megan, on occasions. “BOA” incorporates elements from Gwen Stefanis 2004 hit “What You Waiting For?” off her debut solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

Building up to the release Megan teased fans on media this week with a series of promos inspired by PlayStation video game art. Dubbed “Curse of the Serpent Woman ” these promos images of Megan dressed as Pirate Empress Boa Hancock from the One Piece manga highlighting her love, for cosplay.

“Are you ready to play?” teased a video clip showing a snake confronting an alligator.

The music video showcases a retro gaming theme featuring three players challenging Megan, in scenarios that lead to devastating outcomes.

A year after Megan inked a deal with Warner Music Group, her track “BOA” has made its debut. This partnership allows the Traumazine artist to leverage the company’s reach and resources while still maintaining control over her publishing rights and master recordings.

At 29 years old she is gearing up to drop her album under her label Hot Girl Productions with distribution through WMG. In an interview with Womens Health April Megan shared that this upcoming release is set to be her impressive work yet.

“I was inspired to create this album about rebirth because I feel I am becoming a new person physically and mentally,” she explained, before touching on her snake motif. “They’re feared, misunderstood, respected, healing…I want to see myself grow and be better than I am right now. And I will. I know I will.”
